FAQ

Common questions

What does keywordmonitor.app actually do?

It tracks where your keywords rank in Google, both your organic position and whether Google's AI Overview cites your domain, in whichever countries you choose, on a schedule you set, and emails you when something moves. That's the whole product. No site audits, no backlink analysis, no content suite, no PPC tools.

What is AI Overview citation tracking?

For every keyword and country you track, we record whether Google showed an AI Overview and whether your domain is cited in it, separately from your organic position, with its own day-by-day history. The two diverge more than you'd think: you can be cited in the AI answer while ranking outside the top 100, or rank #2 and be invisible in it. It's included in every slot, not a separate tier or add-on. It's still rank tracking; it just tracks where Google actually puts you now.

How does the keyword finder work?

Point it at your site and AI suggests keywords worth tracking, filtered to ones with real search volume and never ones you already track, then you pull volumes and add them straight to tracking. It exists to answer "what should I be tracking?", not to be a content-research suite.

Can I add a lot of keywords at once?

Yes. Paste a list (one keyword per line) or upload a CSV, pick the target domain and countries once, and confirm from a preview that shows what will be added and which keywords were skipped as already tracked. Up to 50 keywords per upload.

Is there a mobile app?

The dashboard is an installable web app: add it to your home screen from your phone's browser and it opens like an app, scoped to just the tool. No app store, no separate purchase, same account.

How does slot-based pricing work?

1 slot = 1 keyword tracked in 1 country. A keyword tracked in one country is 1 slot; the same keyword tracked in 5 countries is 5 slots. You can spend your slot budget however you like: a handful of keywords across many countries, or hundreds of keywords in one.

What's the difference between weekly and daily checks?

Every keyword is checked weekly. For rank monitoring that's genuinely enough, since most positions barely move day to day. On top of that, you can flag your most important keywords for daily checks (5 on Starter, up to 100 on Business), for active campaigns, money keywords, or validating a fix: anywhere you'd want to know about a move the day it happens. Checking everything daily would just cost more for data that rarely changes, and we'd rather not charge you for that.

Can I track the same keyword in multiple countries?

Yes, that's exactly what slots are for. Add the keyword once per country you want to track it in; each combination is its own slot.

If I deactivate a keyword, do I lose its history?

No. Deactivating a keyword stops new checks but keeps every past ranking on record. History is never deleted; only new tracking stops.

Where does the ranking data come from?

We query live Google search results directly for each keyword/country pair on your chosen schedule, not an estimate or a cached index.

Can I check a ranking on demand, outside its schedule?

Yes, a manual refresh is planned as an on-demand, out-of-cadence check. Because it's the one action that could be spammed, it draws from a metered monthly allowance instead of being unlimited. Your regularly scheduled checks are unaffected either way.

Is billing live yet?

Not yet. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment signups open. When it does launch, both monthly and annual billing will be available on every tier, including the smallest one; annual is a discount, never a requirement.

What if I need more than 500 slots?

Get in touch instead of hunting for a self-serve add-on. Above Business-tier volume we'd rather talk through your setup (custom cadence mixes, invoicing, onboarding) than guess at a price in advance.
